Job title: Manufacturing Estimator 

Kewell Converters Ltd are a UK leading foam converter based in Edenbridge, Kent, with a strong reputation for quality and engineering ability within our sector.  We operate a fast-paced batch production manufacturing facility and with a strong history of investment.


We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Estimator.  You will be the technical lead and accountable for the design and profitability of the product. You will be supporting both internal and external customers, identifying product opportunities and solutions.

The Role:

  • Work with Sales/Client to understand and deliver order requirements, including identifying and resolving challenges at the Pre-Production stage.
  • Create and maintain costed Bill of Materials (BoM's) that are tracked, updated and reviewed throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support the development, evaluation and implementation of production process, procedures and best practices to improve quality, reliability and productivity by using 5s and LEAN methodologies.
  • Involvement in drawing creation and approval, including identification of quality standards.
  • Estabilish and maintain professional customer relationships (discussing production requirements around the design and material of the product)
  • Work with senior management and colleagues to anticipare and predict future trends in production.

The Candidate:

  • Manufacturing engineering qualification
  • Experience in estimating in machining or fabrication industries
  • Able to interpret drawings
  • Understanding of CAD/CAM desirable
  • Understanding of foam / wood manufacturing desirable
  • 5s and LEAN manufacturing understanding preferred
  • ERP pr CRM experience
  • Client relationship building experience (able to speak to customers about designs/materials)
  • Sales orientated individual
  • Good mathematically
  • Technical problem-solving ability


  • Good verbal and written communication skills are a must, along with strong analytical skills
  • Good understanding of the manufacturing machinery and processes
  • Good manufacturing H&S understanding

The Package:

Salary: £28-35,000 DOE

Hours: 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays.
