Last month marked a proud moment for Kewell Converters, as our Managing Director was invited to a prestigious event at 11 Downing Street, hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in partnership with Make UK.
The evening brought together influential voices from across the manufacturing industry, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities that define the sector today.
For Kewell Converters, this was more than a visit to one of the most recognisable addresses in the country, it was an opportunity to represent British manufacturing, share insights with fellow leaders, and reflect on how collaboration, skills, and innovation continue to shape our industry.
The event welcomed 50 senior figures from across UK manufacturing, serving sectors as varied as technology, construction, automotive, and medical.
One of the strongest themes to emerge was the growing interconnectedness of supply chains. From quarrying and cement to high-performance materials, each conversation reinforced a clear message: we must all stick together.
A highlight of the evening was the celebration of young apprentices who are building their futures in manufacturing. Their enthusiasm and talent were a reminder that the success of British engineering and manufacturing depends on nurturing new skills and perspectives.
At Kewell Converters, this message resonates deeply. As a company that invests in training and development, we believe that passing on expertise, from foam conversion techniques to digital design and production, is vital for sustaining the UK’s position as a global leader in manufacturing innovation.
Among the key issues discussed, cybersecurity emerged as a major concern for manufacturers. With increasingly digital supply chains and data-driven production, resilience and protection are now critical to operational continuity.
Yet, despite these challenges, there was a strong sense of optimism, a shared belief that British manufacturing has the creativity and determination to adapt and thrive.
The atmosphere at 11 Downing Street was one of confidence and collaboration. Leaders shared experiences and ideas, reinforcing the belief that innovation, adaptability, and shared learning are central to the future of British manufacturing.
For Kewell Converters, the event was a reminder of the role that specialist manufacturers play in strengthening our industrial base, not just through products, but through partnership, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement.
Attending the event was both an honour and an affirmation of our ongoing commitment to UK manufacturing excellence. If you’re looking for an innovative partner to support your next project, get in touch with our team today.
